Wayne, NJ--Fujinon has further increased its presence within the mobile segment with three large-scale high definition lens sales over the past two weeks. Following sales announcements at NAB to mobile product companies Trio Video and F&F Productions, Fujinon has announced that MIRA Mobile Television out of Portland, OR, has purchased 11 HD lenses for its forthcoming HD production truck. The truck, dubbed M-5, will hit the road in November 2004. MIRA Mobile, a Fujinon customer since 1995, will use a variety of versatile Fujinon lens to cover live professional and college sporting events in and the western United States. The mobile production company will also use the lenses for critical live shows, such as concerts and other staging events, and corporate programming events.
"Fujinon has been a leader in the high definition business since they introduced the first HD lens for video years ago," said Rick Hayes, chief engineer, MIRA Mobile Television. "Furthermore, Fujinon understands the mobile production market extremely well. They understand that our clients' needs are immediate in live television--there is no tomorrow. They also understand the requirement to provide immediate needs for MIRA Mobile. It's just one more example of their excellent customer support, which is yet another reason why they continually rise to the top of the pack when it comes time for us to purchase professional lenses."
MIRA Mobile Television will add four XA72x9.3BESM and two XA87x9.3BESM (with stabilization) HD zoom lenses; three HA22x7.8 BERM ENG lenses; and two HA13x4.5BERM wide-angle lenses. The lenses will be affixed to Sony cameras that will acquire signals in the new 1080/60p format.
