Frontline to build HD Sprinter C-, Ku-band uplinks for ARCTEK

ARCTEK Satellite Productions has placed an order with Frontline Communications to build a Sprinter-based 2.4m HD C-band digital satellite uplink vehicle. The unit will be designated ARCTEK White.

ARCTEK’s second new HD uplink will be another Ku-band vehicle, designated as ARCTEK Red. Both trucks will be completed in time for display at the NAB2007, April 14-19, in Las Vegas.

For the C-band uplink, ARCTEK has specified redundant 750W amplifiers to provide maximum allowable power to the antenna under all conditions, which in turn allows positive power margins for any video or HDTV transmission condition.

ARCTEK White will include comprehensive HD monitoring, including bit stream analyzers and Dolby E decoders. The uplink will also have redundant TANDBERG SD/HD digital encoders.
