Front Porch to upgrade DIVArchive for NAB

Front Porch Digital, a provider of content storage management technology, will upgrade its DIVArchive solution for NAB2007. Key enhancements include broader interoperability with the emerging technologies of key partners, enhanced performance for network-based API clients, file system interface refinements and enhanced error messaging.

Front Porch said DIVAnet allowed users to leverage the core power of DIVArchive to provide advanced content replication, disaster recovery and continuance of business across multiple facilities. It also provides a toolset for content lifecycle control across multiple locations.

The company said DIVAnet ensured that two or more facilities can share identical digital media libraries and also provided the means for one facility — equipped with the requisite playout infrastructure — to duplicate and take over the other facility's program transmission in the event of failure, natural disaster or other catastrophe.

DIVAdirector, a distributed, Web-based content management application, enables active tracking of all assets in the DIVArchive system, low-bit rate proxy browsing, frame-accurate EDL generation and export and metadata search and management capabilities.

DIVAprotect is a new option for DIVArchive that provides continuous monitoring of storage device and media performance and warns of degradation before a catastrophic data loss. DIVAworks is a robust plug-and-play archive management appliance to help users to include a server and nearline storage with a 10-cassette data tape library, all operating under the control of DIVArchive. This turnkey single-chassis unit is offered at prices tailored to the needs of broadcasters making first-time investments in basic archive systems.
