The European Broadcasting Union has tapped Quantel for its Newsbox systems for the Torino Winter Olympics.
Newsbox manages the production of daily news reports and highlights at the games, which take place between Feb. 10 and Feb. 26, 2006 in Italy. The Newsboxes will be used to provide two 60-minute daily reports that will be distributed to EBU members throughout 54 countries in Europe, Northern Africa and the Middle East, as well as to an additional 48 associates in 29 countries.
Each Newsbox is a complete system with 110 hours of storage of broadcast and co-located browse material, QRecord and QPlay automation as well as a number of sQ View and sQ Cut applications for selecting and editing content.
