Discreet to feature latest technology for editing, animation, color correction, effects

3ds max 6 is Discreet’s newest 3-D solution
Discreet will feature the latest technology for its editing/finishing systems smoke and fire, animation software 3ds max, digital grading and color correction system luster, and visual effects systems inferno, flame and flint at IBC2004.
The company will also present seminars on digital color grading and the digital intermediate process for digital cinema post-production. This year’s D-Cinema workshops will feature two presentations: one by renowned digital film expert Jon Thompson, and the other by the team behind the BBC’s project Pride.
Thompson, whose credits include Harry Potter 3, Kill Bill, Cold Mountain and Tomb Raider 2, will draw on his knowledge and experience in the film industry to give a technical presentation on the development of digital cinema technology, paying particular attention to mastering and projection.
The workshops will take place from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., Sept. 11, and from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sept. 12.
