Digital Broadcast and Pathfire Link Up

Digital Broadcast and Pathfire Inc. struck a technology agreement to create an automated workflow system to move news content directly to video file servers and editing platforms. The resulting architecture will allow for video files received on the Pathfire Digital Media Gateway (DMG) to be automatically transferred to Digital Broadcast NewsBank and MediaBank servers via Pathfire DMG Server Connect for News.

There will be no need to store video files on tape prior to transfer to play-to-air servers or video-editing systems. Once files are transferred to Digital Broadcast servers, the files can be edited in native MPEG-2 format and sent direct to air, retaining master file quality and avoiding degradation.
