December Transition for WZMY
By TVB Staff published
MyNetworkTV affiliate WZMY-TV in Boston is aiming for a mid-day switch-off on Dec. 1, 2008, for its analog signal. The move will make WZMY the first station in the Greater Boston area to go all digital.
The station is owned by ShootingStar Broadcasting of New England LLC and transmits from a site in Hudson, N.H.
The station is promoting the early changeover to viewers on air and online. WZMY is pitching the December transition as an early warning for over-the-air viewers as to whether or not they will need a converter box or another alternative to continue receiving television signals after Feb. 17, 2009.
