Cox Selects N2 Broadband MediaPoint For VOD

(January 6, 2004) Atlanta, GA--Cox Communications has selected N2 Broadband's MediaPoint Asset Management System (AMS) to support its existing video on demand (VOD) markets. N2 Broadband now has more than 70 commercial deployments of MediaPoint AMS, a cross-vendor asset management and delivery solution.
Cox tapped MediaPoint AMS for its automated content staging and management capabilities, making it part of Cox's standard VOD configuration. MediaPoint AMS will relieve Cox headend personnel by automatically validating and correcting metadata based on user-defined rules.
John Hildebrand, vice president of Multimedia Technology at Cox Communications, said, "N2 Broadband leads the industry in asset management and delivery for on-demand content. We continue to choose N2 Broadband because of their strong digital cable expertise and proven success managing complex VOD deployments. With N2 Broadband's MediaPoint AMS, we are solving operational needs for cost reductions by automating the process of receiving, inspecting and tailoring our VOD content."
"We've enjoyed a great relationship with Cox in the past, and are extremely pleased that Cox will be adding our MediaPoint AMS to its existing VOD markets," said Reggie Bradford, president and CEO, N2 Broadband. "Cox has great vision and a solid business strategy for its EOD service and we're excited about working with them as their service matures and grows. N2 Broadband's solutions are open and scalable and will support Cox's existing and future needs for content management and delivery."
