CNBC Automates News with ILC

CNBC will automate many of its news-related activities with MaxView network control software by ILC.

MaxView will help to evolve CNBC--broadcast from the floor of the stock exchange--to a digital facility, with its scheduling, adjusting, and its inbound and outbound program routing tools.

Automated tasks will now include collecting the satellite feed, cleaning up picture quality and releasing feed for distribution.

"MaxView helps us to maximize our satellite newsgathering efficiency by putting all of the necessary controls at the fingertips of our engineers," said Steve Fastook, vice president, technical and commercial operations for CNBC

MaxView has drag-and-drop tools and users can create macros to automate repetitive activities such as routing live feeds, according to Mark Krikorian vice president of ILC, based in Atlanta.
