Canon offers anamorphic converter and Cine prime lenses for digital shooters

Canon now offers six high-definition electronic cinematography (HD-EC) Cine Prime lenses in the 2/3in format. This includes the FJs 5-, 9-, 14-, 24-, 35-, and 55mm prime lenses. Canon’s HD-EC ACV-235 Anamorphic Converter also extends the capabilities of its FJs series.

Canon’s FJs Prime Lens series provides contrast range and edge sharpness as a result of its modulation transfer function (MTF)) profile across the 16:9 image plane. This is further enhanced by the FJs Prime Lens series’ tight control of chromatic aberrations. The color reproduction of all six models closely match one another, reducing the need to re-balance a digital camera’s white reference when changing lenses during a shoot.

The lenses feature optimization of MTF at the wide aperture settings and a very short minimum object distance (MOD). Canon’s Internal Focus technology, employing a two-group floating optical system, further increases performance.
