BroadcastAsia cancels 2003 conference

Concerns about the SARS virus have prompted conference organizers to cancel this year's BroadcastAsia2003 conference. The event was scheduled to take place in Singapore, June 17 – 20.

Organizers said visitors and exhibitors were concerned about their safety at the show.

The WHO and U.S. CDC has issued a worldwide advisory against traveling to SARS infected areas. The Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) outbreak in Singapore has shown little improvement over the past few weeks and is getting worse in other parts of Asia.

Organizers did look for other available dates, but decided not to reschedule this year's show.

The next BroadcastAsia is scheduled to take place from June 15-18 2004.
