One West Virginia station is helping to prime the employee pool of the future. WBOY-TV, the NBC affiliate serving Clarksburg, Fairmont and Morgantown, W.V., donated $1,000 to Robert C. Byrd High School broadcasting department, according to a brief at WTRF-TV’s Web site. WTRF is the CBS affiliate for Wheeling. Both stations are owned by West Virginia Media Holdings. The program’s teacher, Tim Bode, said the money would be used for field microphones and lighting, but there were plenty of items they still needed.
