Broadcast Show Planned for Beirut in December

Citing "pent-up demand" for new equipment and the "fast emergence" of broadcast operations in the Middle East, organizers are hoping for 6,000 attendees to MEB 2005, a new Conference and Exposition of broadcast technology in Beirut, Lebanon.

The event will take place in December and will include 120 exhibitors as well as a conference schedule. Buyers from 22 countries are expected. Topics include radio and television broadcasting as well as audio production and film and graphics.

MEB President Ahmad Al Maaz said in a statement, "Broadcasting in the region has really taken off in the last couple of years - one or two stations are going live every month right now. Many of the over 200 stations in the Middle East are currently preparing to upgrade their operations."
