EchoStar Communications has selected Michael A. Neuman as president and chief operating officer.
Neuman, former president of Bell Canada Enterprises subsidiary Bell Mobility, said he is excited to join a company that has been "an innovator in the pay-TV industry."
The satellite company also has appointed board member Carl Vogel as vice chairman. Vogel--who served as the company's president from 1994 to 1997--joined the board of directors in May. Prior to joining EchoStar, he was president and CEO of cable operator Charter Communications and has also held senior executive positions with company's affiliated with Liberty Media. Prior to that, Vogel served as the chairman/CEO of Primestar and CEO of Star Choice.
