Engineers to Be Recognized at NAB Tech Luncheon

Tom Silliman and Antoon “Tony” Uyttendaele will be honored during the NAB show in Las Vegas with the 2008 NAB Engineering Achievement Award. The awards will be presented April 16 during the NAB Show Technology Luncheon.
Silliman, president of Electronics Research Inc., has pioneered transmission antenna technologies, including the circularly polarized, patented Rototiller, popular among FM stations. Silliman also helped develop a television antenna system that accommodates digital and analog transmission.
Uyttendaele, retired as senior advisor of science and technology at ABC, is considered pivotal in the adoption 720p in the international HDTV standard.
