>Media 100, a unit of Optibase, has hired long-time Avid product designer Steve Bayes as director of product marketing. He will oversee and roll out Media 100’s 10-bit HD and SD editing system, Media 100 HD; new versions of the company’s 844/X realtime editing-compositing solution; and future Media 100 products for the Mac and PC.

>Uzi Breier has joined Optibase as chief executive officer. Breier, who most recently served as chief executive officer of Emblaze Semiconductor, will be in charge of the company’s business plans and strategies. Optibase also recently appointed Adam Schadle president. He will oversee all of the company’s U.S.-based activities.

>Pace Micro Technology has promoted Chris Dinallo to vice president of technology. He will work on on-going business, new business development, and direct technical point of contact for MSOs. Additionally, Steve Payne has joined Pace as director of operations and finance. He will be responsible for all operational aspects of the company.
>Solid State Logic (SSL) has appointed Thomas Jensen service manager and Phill Scholes service engineer for the New York office. Both Jensen and Scholes have moved from SSL’s headquarters in England to lend their skills to the SSL eastern region office.

>Roger Henderson, former CEO of Chyron, has been appointed chairman of Trilogy Broadcast. Trilogy also tapped Mike Knight, former general manager of Pro-Bel and a senior vice president of Chyron, as CEO. Roger Stanwell, who has been managing director of Trilogy since its formation in 1986, will become commercial director.

>Frank Rocco has joined Wohler Technologies as director of marketing. His initial projects include major marketing initiatives to promote wider recognition of Wohler Technologies’ new achievements in advanced in-rack audio and video monitoring products.
Service Providers
>Rick Oster has been promoted to executive vice president, general sales manager, at Adlink. In this position several Adlink vice presidents will report to Oster. He will continue to lead and oversee the Adlink sales team.

>Company 3 has hired visual effects editor Brian Robinson. Robinson, who has more than 20 years of experience under his belt, will operate out of a newly built compositing suite equipped with a Discreet fire system at Company 3’s Santa Monica facility. He will also have access to the facility’s Quantel iQ system for feature film and other film-based editorial work. He has worked as a freelancer for the past three years as the owner and operator of Independent Post and 503 Post.

>Masque Sound has named Michael Descoteau director of broadcast services. He will coordinate the expansion of the company’s broadcast services division.

>Writer/producer Phil Lollar has joined Renegade Animation as director of development. He will develop episodic television, feature film, DVD, and other entertainment projects for the animation studio. Director of development is a newly created position for Renegade, and part of the company’s effort to grow the entertainment side of its business.

Associations
>The Satellite Broadcasting and Communications Association (SBCA) has announced Steven Hill as vice president for training and technology. He will oversee many aspects of SBCA’s education and National Standards and Testing Program (NSTP). His focus will be on expanding and developing the current education and training programs and creating new programs in broadband and trouble-shooting.

>ASSOCIATIONS
The New York Production Alliance has announced the formation of a new board of directors, designed to carry the six-year-old group through the next stage of its pro-bono mission. TeleVest’s Phil Dixson will serve as co-chairman, along with John Johnston of Eastman Kodak.
