Avid, Bluefish444 Collaborate to Create HD Workflow

Uncompressed video card supplier Bluefish444--a division of Melbourne, Australia-based Digital Voodoo--is teaming up with Avid to create an uncompressed HD workflow technology.

The workflow will be used for the Sony SRW-5000 VTR and Avid DS Nitris.

The Bluefish444 Symmetry software--a free capture-and-playback utility with HD|Lust--accepts a capture log prepared using Avid Nitris EDL and directs the capture of 4:4:4 RGB HD from the dual-link HD-SDI connection on the Sony VTR.

The Bluefish444 HD|Lust captures the content and Symmetry converts the HD-RGB stream into sequences of DPX frames containing timecode and reel information used to drive program conform in Avid DS Nitris.
