ATV Jordan to install Ross Synergy switchers in production studios

ATV Jordan has invested in three Ross Synergy 3 SD digital production switchers, Ross Video said. The switchers will be installed in two new large production studios and a smaller news studio and were proposed by dB Broadcast, a systems integrator in the UK. Installation is expected to be complete by the summer of 2006.

ATV Jordan went out to tender in February 2005 to build a new TV station and dB Broadcast was awarded the project as systems integrator. DB Broadcast is responsible for the full technical infrastructure of the station and is providing support to both the architects and builders. At NAB2005, the consultant for ATV Jordan and dB received switcher demonstrations by various manufacturers and agreed to invest in Synergy.

ATV is the first independent broadcast channel in Jordan. The switchers were installed at the ATV station in the capital city of Amman. The station produces a variety of news and entertainment programming that includes a live studio audience.

Synergy SD offers a growth path to the Synergy Multi-Definition switchers. The rack frame has 24 serial digital inputs (expandable to 64), 20 serial digital outputs, six chroma keyers, six effects keyers and two additional downstream keyers available. There are up to six channels of Squeeze & Tease WARP DVE loaded with effects.
