Hollywood trailer house The Ant Farm purchased 40 Avid Media Composer Adrenaline systems and a suite of Avid Productivity Tools for its two Unity MediaNetwork shared-storage systems. The Ant Farm has begun installing the systems on HP xw8000 workstations in its new Los-Angeles-based facility, and will use them to create campaigns and trailers for films. The company expects to have all systems online by mid-March.
Spokesmen for The Ant Farm say speed and "the critical ability to work with legacy ABVB media" were key factors in its decision to select Adrenaline, and the addition of Avid Productivity Tools (particularly MediaManager Select) will facilitate media sharing among its clients and extend access to producers and directors. Avid's director of post solutions said The Ant Farm's installation of Adrenaline systems in a shared environment with Avid Unity MediaNetwork and Productivity Tools "illustrates the growing trend of moving from standalone editing workstations toward truly collaborative postproduction workflows."
