ABC Stations Taps into Cox Multiplatform Group
The ABC network struck a strategic alliance with Cox Cross Media, an online and mobile advertising division of Cox Enterprises in Atlanta. CXM will handle online ad sales for ABC’s 10 O&Os, and both with cross market each other’s brands. CXM, based in New York, handles 700 local media Web and mobile content sites for TV, radio and print properties.
The partnership gives the ABC stations the ability to sell one or all station Web sites to a regional or national buyer, or to combine the deal with other platforms or brand. In turn, it gives ABC’s media buyers a one-stop shop for alternative platform buys. In addition to the stations, CXM will rep ABC’s SuperSign digital billboard in Times Square, ABC National TV Sales for venues other than TV stations, e.g., gas station TV, taxicabs, grocery stores and sports venues.
