ABC Selects Anthony Cole for VP Slot

The ABC Television Network has announced the selection of Anthony Cole as its new vice president of West Coast Broadcasting Operations & Engineering, according to an announcement by Preston Davis, president of that division.

Cole has more than 25 years experience in television operations and engineering and has worked for ABC earlier in his career. Most recently he has serves as vice president of engineering for Discovery Communications.

"It’s a pleasure to welcome Tony back to ABC after many years as he now brings his highly accomplished expertise in broadcasting, cable and new media to this key Broadcast Operations & Engineering post on the West Coast," said Davis. "His wide-ranging operational track record with news, sports and entertainment programming, along with his project and financial management experience, also makes him well suited for this leadership position."

Cole will report to Davis in his new position and will be responsible for directing the network’s west coast broadcasting operations and engineering group. Previously he held positions at the network as senior technical manager of ENG operations in Washington, D.C. and also as director of ENG/ENF operations in New York. Cole received a Technical Emmy award for the 1988 Winter Olympic Game coverage.
