RTNDA gathering to explore changing role of electronic journalism

The Radio-Television News Directors Association will explore the changing role of television journalism at its annual gathering next week in conjunction with the NAB convention in Las Vegas.

RTNDA will offer news directors, reporters and other broadcast journalists three Super Sessions:

  • Tough Calls and the Credibility of Journalism Today – An exploration of how news judgment impacts a viewer’s perception of the newsroom. Related topics will include running retractions, competitive pressures, source material and business pressures.

  • Are We Becoming Irrelevant? –Blogs are creating citizen journalists. Where do traditional electronic journalists fit in this landscape and what role will they play in the future?
    (9:30–10:30 a.m., April 20)
  • News and Terrorism: Communicating in a Crisis – Learn how to develop a plan and make preparations for the extraordinary demands placed on local news organizations in the aftermath of a terror attack.
