Auckland, New Zealand-based Prime Television has purchased an Omneon Spectrum media server system which will be integrated into a Dalet-based current affairs production environment.

The Omneon Spectrum media server system provides Prime with a central shared-storage platform that will enhance the network’s production workflow. As new material is ingested into the Omneon Spectrum media server, those media assets become immediately available to Prime journalists across the network.

The media server system will provide Prime with a reliable and scalable infrastructure for professional broadcast playout and storage applications. The system’s open architecture allows it to support a broad variety of third-party applications for control and transmission, media management, storage and collaborative production.
