Onda Cádiz TV adds tapeless news system

The system for Onda Cádiz is composed of newsroom and content management based on Sony XDCAM and various vsn modules that include MXF compatibility.

Spanish TV news channel Onda Cádiz TV has installed a complete JustEdit vsn master control room and news system with MXF support for the Cadiz Province.

Onda Cádiz will become the first broadcaster in Spain to operate in an entirely digital tapeless environment. This provides several benefits, including image quality, speed to air and optimization of human resources.

The solution is composed of newsroom and content management based on Sony XDCAM and various vsn modules that include MXF compatibility and take advantage of the qualities of optical disks.

For the first time in Spain, the system also includes the integration of vsn with Avid. The system includes five Avid Xpress Pro HD editing systems and vsnnews licenses for text editing and playlists, with shared storage from two 4TB servers. The system also includes one vsnairnews two-channel news video server with storage for 100 hours of video, a vsncg titler and vsnprompter. Onda Cádiz has also ordered a vsnarchive archive system with more than 10,000 hours of low-resolution storage.
