Chyron debuts digital signage system

Chyron's ChyTV digital display system

Chyron has introduced ChyTV, a digital display system that allows the addition of video graphics and text to an external video feed without disrupting a program delivered via broadcast TV, cable, satellite, CCTV, VCR or DVD.

The system is integrated into any existing video infrastructure and allows users to insert security alert information and relevant instructions into broadcast video streams in real time. The information displayed with programmable audio alerts may be displayed on a single TV screen or broadcast throughout the facility.

With ChyTV, a video region can be resized and positioned from page to page with smooth transitions while graphic and text regions can be assigned to surround or overlay the video window. These graphic regions include crawls, active data updates such as time and temperature or full page slides from HTML sources. In addition, audio WAV files may be integrated for sound clips and audio alerts. All graphic pages can be scheduled using the play list or overridden using the network interface.

ChyTV uses the output from common authoring programs such as Microsoft PowerPoint, Adobe Photoshop, or the supplied templates. Then, using a scheduling interface, pages can be added to a Playlist for either looping or date/time playout. Pages and the playlist are then loaded into the ChyTV via standard Compact Flash interface, USB or Ethernet connection, for playout. This process requires no external computer connection. ChyTV is also scalable to accommodate individual stand-alone applications as well as large worldwide networks.
