Adtec showcases television over IP solutions

Adtec Digital recently showcased its new television over IP solutions including digital television delivery, secure satellite delivery and digital ad insertion solutions.

The company unveiled its DTA-3150 and DTA-3250 digital turn around media routers. The DTA multiplexers include two QPSK receivers with CACI interface for descrambling and routing ASI and DVB-S feeds and output ASI and IP concurrently. The 3250 is equipped with two 8-VSB receivers for processing ATSC signals and also includes SMPTE 310M inputs and outputs. The 3150, designed for the international market, also includes two DVB-T receivers. Both models output multiplexed ASI and IP streams over a Gigabit Ethernet interface.

The DTA-3150 and DTA-3250 can interface to middleware management solutions for IP headend deployment in cable, satellite, corporate and hospitality markets. The company has developed an enterprise middleware solution for managing Amino IP set tops using the Adtec digital headend, including the 2100 series real-time encoders, 3000 series ASI multiplexer and 3150 or 3250 turnaround multiplexer.

All models on the multiplexer product line have the ability to route MPEG transport streams over a GIGE interface. Adtec also made public its digital ad insertion solutions including Digital into Analog (DIA), Digital into Digital (DID) and Digital into Transport (DIT). DIT as a solution is new for Adtec, although Adtec helped author the SCTE 30 and SCTE 35 standards, defining the splicing of transport streams nearly four years ago.

Adtec is showcasing the DPI-1200 DIT ad server, designed to simultaneously insert up to 12 programs into a digital cable or digital television service, as well as its Traffic and Billing Gateway Server (TBGS). The TBGS offers the ability to unite with the DPI-1200 into any system, facilitating deployment of DIT. Adtec’s secure satellite solution, a complete, encrypted, subscription management system, is also now available.
