Washington Public Affairs Network automates with Sundance Digital

The Washington Public Affairs Network (TVW), a popular Olympia, WA, cable channel, has moved into a new, larger production studio that is controlled by a Sundance Digital Titan automation system.

Within the new 15,000sq-ft digital facility, the new Titan drives a 300-hour Omneon video server as well as remote monitoring playback, the fiber infrastructure, and its routing switchers. The system also automates the archiving process by managing the movement of content between the Omneon play-to-air server and nearline storage.

TVW provides unedited TV and Web coverage of state government deliberations and public policy events, as well as more than 2000 hours of original programming, annually to more than 98 percent of the cable households in the state (more than 3 million potential viewers) on a 24/7 schedule.

Titan is a scalable automation solution that is designed to control up to hundreds of channels in a single facility or remotely manage playlists at multiple locations.

Sundance Digital, a division of Avid Technology, is headquartered in the metropolitan Dallas area.
