U.S. Army All-American Bowl Week streamed live with NewTek TriCaster

SportsLink, a sports marketing and management company, used a NewTek TriCaster portable live production system to produce and stream live coverage of the U.S. Army All-American Bowl Week events Dec. 31-Jan. 4 on http://www.footballuniversity.org/.

TriCaster allowed SportsLink to expand the NBC game coverage of the All-American Bowl to include other significant competitions and games during the weeklong classic in San Antonio, the company said. The device made it possible to produce and stream the events for a fraction of the cost and effort of deploying a TV truck to cover one event.

Among the events streamed were the U.S. Army’s All-American Bowl Skills Challenge, the National Combine, the Pre-Game Pageantry, the All-American Marching Band, the American Bowl & Post Game Show and the Youth All-American Games.

With TriCaster, a single operator or small team can produce a live show while switching between as many as six cameras with two VCRs, multichannel effects and NewTek’s LiveSet virtual sets.
