TNT Uses Bexel Flypack for Golf Coverage in HD

Turner Sports used the Hercules HD flypack from Bexel to provide TNT’s first ever hi-def coverage of the 25th annual PGA Grand Slam of Golf from the Mid Ocean Club in Bermuda, Oct. 16-17.

Bexel’s “Hercules” remote HD flypack features a Sony 8000G 80-input, fully optioned switcher, Calrec Alpha console, 96-input LCD product monitor wall using Evertz MVP multi-image display processors, PESA Cheetah multiformat video router and DRS audio router and multiple HD EVS LSM XT[2] 6-channel DDRs, Sony SRW-5500 HDCAM SR VTRs and Sony HDC-1500L multiformat HD camera chains.

“Hercules enabled us to turn a woodworking shop into a top-notch TV control in less than two days,” said Tom Sahara, senior director of remote operations for Turner Sports. “The well-engineered system took longer to unload from the shipping containers than it did to assemble and connect the racks”.

Bexel is a Burbank, Calif.-based video production rental house.
