Tandberg Television Widens MPEG-2, MPEG-4 Encoding

Tandberg Television plans to show its newest developments in MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 video encoding technology for both standard- and high-definition television applications at IBC.

Products displayed will include the ISIS 8000 IP headend, which combines encoding with Tandberg's MX8400 multitransport IP statistical multiplexer to support single-frequency network and IP streaming applications. The MX8400 device supports all codec functions and can provide seamless IP connectivity, as well as DVB asynchronous serial interface.

Tandberg also plans to show its TT1260 line of integrated receiver/decoders for handling IP to ASI/SDI duties to provide feeds to television transmitters.

Visitors can also expect to see demonstrations of Tandberg's nCompass Monitoring management system for observing the "health" of digital television networks.

Tandberg Television will be at stand 1.D61.
