Starfish Technologies has made available its new closed-captioning processing software application, DeCompositor. When media files with embedded captions are edited, some captions may be inadvertently deleted, or residual captions may remain that are no longer appropriate for the edited media. A compliment to its closed-captioning embedding technology, Compositor, Starfish now offers customers the capability to extract closed-captioning from a broadcast-encoded media file and create an industry-standard closed-captioning file that can be re-edited and reused.
