Shotoku, Ross Video integrate robotic camera control panel, switcher
By TVTechnology published
Shotoku Broadcast Systems recently completed its first integration of the TR-8T robotic camera control panel with Ross Video’s Synergy switcher.
The new configuration was engineered in response to a request from Australia’s TVSN. The channel wanted to use the existing joystick and controls on a Ross Synergy 3 SD switcher panel to position cameras mounted on Shotoku pan and tilt heads robotically.
The combination puts both switcher and robotic camera positioning within reach of a single operator and eliminates a separately located robotic camera control panel. The integration increases operator productivity and saves control room space.
Shotoku and Ross Video engineers worked closely together to design the interface between these systems, which are typically considered to be separate.
