Scientific Atlanta to Find the Right Channel With its IP Distribution, CA Tools

Scientific Atlanta will showcase its many solutions for IP-based contribution and distribution environments at NAB2007.

The company will demo its newest MPEG-4/H.264 toolset delivering high quality, HD and SD video at low bit-rates. In addition a new flexible stat mux architecture mixes SD and HD content in MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 formats will also be shown.

S-A is also showing a new HD AVC decoder, which, in addition to offering MPEG-over IP capabilities, delivers the S-A PowerVu conditional access scheme as well as multiple third-party CA systems. An integrated DVB-S2 demodulation option expands content capacity of existing satellites by up to 30 percent.

Also new is the S-A Digital Content Manager, which delivers video processing power for SD and HD programming, plus seamless regional digital program insertion and local ad insertion.

S-A will also highlight a new, dual power supply MPEG-2 encoder that is upgradeable to MPEG-4; a new release of the PowerVu Network Centre for control of an expanded array of products; the ROSA Network management and Control system, and more.
