Pentagon Channel automates with Sundance Digital

The Pentagon Channel, which broadcasts military news and information to the U.S. Armed Forces 24 hours a day, installed a Sundance Digital FastBreak NXT automation system to manage its daily scheduling and on-air transmission needs. The system will help ensure a consistent on-air look and automate many of the processes for producing and distributing its programs.

The Pentagon Channel broadcasts via the American Forces Radio and Television Service at bases overseas, and by cable, satellite and the Web in the United States. Domestically, the channel is also available to the general public through local cable or satellite service providers and at www.pentagonchannel.mil.

The FastBreak NXT automation system blends the latest in Microsoft Windows shortcuts and navigation techniques, helping facilities manage information and content from the master control room. The Pentagon Channel’s suite includes four Media Prep stations for content management and traffic log processing, a fault-tolerant SQL data server with ListSync auto-failover redundancy, and the Intelli-Sat option to manage the scheduling and recording of incoming satellite feeds.
