NETGEAR unveils two consumer products to bring Internet to living room TV

NETGEAR introduced at CES 2009 in Las Vegas two new products aimed at letting consumers enjoy Internet videos and digital entertainment content on their HDTV screens.

The NETGEAR ITV2000 Internet TV Player is a compact, plug-in-and-go Internet set-top device with a remote control that lets viewers watch Internet videos, including YouTube, live Internet TV, Internet video Web sites, premium video-on-demand and online video searches on their living room TVs. Slightly larger than a deck of cards, the player connects to the home network and the Internet via Ethernet or wireless USB adapter.

NETGEAR also unveiled the EVA9150 Digital Entertainer Elite digital media player. The player has an integrated 500GB hard drive that’s user-upgradeable to larger capacity disks. The device can playback 1080p digital video, high-resolution digital photos, MP3s and recorded television shows from consumer PCs or storage on their network. It also supports playback of Internet content, such as YouTube, Internet radio, Flickr, RSS feeds and videos.
