Marquis Teams Up With SeaChange

Marquis Broadcast and SeaChange International will be demonstrating a faster-than-real time, DNxHD-based workflow solution at the 2009 NAB Show. The solution uses Marquis’ Medway media transfer and format conversion software integrated with SeaChange’s new generation BML play-to-air storage servers within an Avid production environment.

Visitors to the SeaChange booth will see media files being transferred seamlessly from an Avid Media Composer editing system to the SeaChange server, and played back in native DNxHD. Medway will provide the media highway between the systems, enabling media to move freely without the need for transcoding. The software uses a simple drag and drop GUI to move media files and associated metadata at full network speed without the delays that frequently occur when media is transferred between different hardware and software platforms.

“The Medway system seamlessly integrates the nonlinear post-production environment with the SeaChange play-to-air platform, creating a range of business efficiencies and benefits for our customers as they continue to migrate to tapeless HD production and playout workflows,” said Stephane Jauroyou, director of product marketing for broadcast, SeaChange.

Medway-supported SeaChange servers are available immediately through SeaChange’s worldwide distribution network.

SeaChange will be at booth SU12009.
