Marquis Broadcast technology available with Front Porch Digital archiving system

Marquis Broadcast, a provider of broadcast workflow studies and software, and Front Porch Digital (FPD) have announced that the Marquis Medway media highway system is now available as a built-in feature of Front Porch’s DIVArchive management solution. This combination streamlines several processes for broadcasters that rely on DIVArchive to manage their digital content. DivArchive speeds up the movement of media files between different broadcasting applications.

This new integration means broadcasters can use Medway to select video clips from a DIVArchive system to generate an edit decision list (EDL) containing all relevant information, including metadata. EDLs can then be imported directly into Avid Media Composer or Apple Final Cut Pro NLE systems. Finished files can be quickly and easily exported back to the DIVArchive system for archiving or sent to other applications, no matter what operating system they run on.

Software development to integrate Medway with DIVArchive began at the beginning of this year when Marquis won an order from Technicolor.

Network Services for Medway will be used as the transfer component of a new postproduction archive integration project in Tokyo, Japan. The project, which is now complete, uses Medway’s file exchange capabilities to move media files between Avid Unity, Front Porch’s DIVArchive system, Grass Valley Profile video servers and an OmniBus Windows Media Proxy Shot Selector.
