Jünger Audio shows complete workflow solution for Dolby Surround audio

At NAB, dynamics processing specialist Jünger Audio released a complete suite of DSP and interface cards for its C8000 Level Magic automated audio loudness control system for production and broadcast. The system is now offered in a complete setup that offers a fully integrated workflow solution for managing surround sound and Dolby-coded 5.1 audio signals in production, ingest and playout.

Level Magic is an adaptive-level control algorithm designed to adjust the level from any source at any time, with no pumping, breathing or distortion. It is based on a simultaneous combination of an AGC, a transient processor for fast changes and a look-ahead peak limiter for continuous, unattended control of any program material, regardless of source. It can also be configured and remotely controlled via a Web interface and now complies with the ITU’s BS.R1770 loudness control specifications.

The latest addition to the range is the C8086-8, an eight-channel DSP card that incorporates a new Dolby metadata generator option. This is designed for use with the modular-frame C8000 system, which provides audio processing for a wide variety of applications. The new DSP card can verify, modify or generate metadata, including dialnorm, according to Dolby specifications for both Dolby E and Dolby Digital. It also incorporates Dolby metadata display and editing and eight metadata presets.

Jünger Audio also introduced the 16-channel C8404 HD/SD-SDI embedder/de-embedder and Dolby E resynchronizer card with in-built video delay. With this card installed, the Level Magic system can compensate for any kind of processing delay to the video signal.
