HHB CDR-882 pro CD player gets updated firmware

Sennheiser, the U.S. distributor for HHB, is now shipping the new HHB CDR-882 dual-burning professional CD recorder. The CDR-882 now has new firmware (Version 2.6) for enhanced performance. HHB products will be on display at the upcoming AES Conference in the Sennheiser display, Booth 330.

The CDR-882 is designed for high-end applications, with full 24-bit A/D and D/A converters and noise-shaped dither with a high-quality quartz crystal-derived internal clock and audiophile-grade analog circuitry to deliver superior sonic performance. Build quality is similarly professional, with the CDR-882 weighing in at 14.7 lbs. The CDR-882 uses high-quality IDE CD-R drives mounted in a steel 2U rack-mounting chassis to ensure reliable, glitch-free recording, even in unfavorable environments such as live concerts.

The CDR-882 is compatible with all types of CD-R media, both low- and high-speed (up to 52x). With genuine rec-rec drive configuration, the CDR-882 supports seamless extended recording across two or more discs, as well as simultaneous recording of two discs, high-speed duplication and intelligent disc management.

Comprehensive professional connectivity includes balanced XLR, unbalanced phono analog I/O; balanced XLR AES/EBU digital I/O; coaxial and optical S/PDIF digital I/O; external word clock input, RS-232 remote control and parallel control interface. With its new firmware, the CDR-882 can now create new tracks on the fly. The burn process is optimized for use with a wide range of CD media and operating conditions. The CDR-882 recognizes and optimizes performance for both HHB and other CD media automatically. The firmware is freely downloadable for existing units.
