Fairlight Launches HD Nonlinear Video Line

Fairlight is unveiling new versions of its Pyxis nonlinear video system that support HD video in compressed and uncompressed formats.

The systems--developed by the Sydney, Australia-based company--incorporate a new Tri Level sync capable PCI coms card and also support Black Magic Design's HD-Link hardware.

The four products that comprise the Pyxis suite include an SD player/recorder, an SD player/recorder with genlock and SDI I/Os, and HD/SD network player and an HD/SD player/recorder with SDI and genlock supporting JPEG compression or 4:2:2:2 uncompressed video.

Fairlight will also introduce its Pyxis-ADR, which expands studio control functionality by enabling users to spot ADR takes directly into a list that can be used to control and cue ADR studio record devices. Additionally, users may now add text dialog to the required take and display it in sync with the picture. Pyxis-ADR supports many international languages and supports double bit characters in Chinese or Japanese text.

Fairlight will be in Booth SL340.
