Eutelsat to highlight broadcast, broadband range

Eutelsat will showcase a range of broadcast and broadband solutions to support broadcasters, news agencies, telecom operators and ISPs during IBC2008.

Eutelsat and ViaSat will exhibit the satellite-based broadband service Tooway. The service provides consumers with upstream and downstream broadband connectivity.

The company also will highlight its joint venture with SES Astra on Solaris Mobile, which will deliver mobile video, radio and broadband services across Europe. The primary focus of Solaris Mobile is delivering network infrastructure to service providers in the mobile TV, automotive and broadband communications sectors.

Eutelsat will also spotlight its efforts to consolidate its position in Europe, the Middle East and Africa with the launch of seven new satellites throughout the next two years. These satellites will enable Eutelsat to renew satellite capacity, strengthen in-orbit security, expand overall capability to 664 Ku-band transponders and add new Ka-band and S-band resources.
