Brazilian cable TV selects Zandar multiviewers

Zandar Technologies, a provider of image processing and control systems, will supply 21 Zandar 16-channel DX-16 MultiViewers to Net Serviços de Comunicação S.A. (NET CATV), one of Brazil's largest cable providers.

NET CATV has approximately 200 channels and more than 1.4 million subscribers, and is viewed in more than 6.7 million homes in Brazil. The DX MultiViewer systems will be used in an expansion of the network's headend monitoring facilities.

Within a single program — such as a sporting event — DX Series MultiViewers can be configured to display up to 16 different live camera feeds and angles as well as recorded video in the control room. Viewers at home will also have the ability to select a different camera view, which will be delivered directly to their home TV set.

DX Series MultiViewers can be used for a wide range of broadcast and live sports applications. The MultiViewers' 1RU compact design delivers modular configurations for four, eight, 12 or 16 SDI or composite inputs, with auto detect of NTSC, PAL or SDI formats. Composite, component, SDI and line doubled VGA outputs provide customers with a wide range of flexible display options.

Front-panel controls and remote control via RS-232/422 provide the user with the ability to view real-time multiple images in various pre-configured displays. Optional software allows the user configuration of displays and multisystem control, as well as in-picture audio monitoring of SDI embedded audio. Standard alarm features include loss of video sync, black picture and frozen picture detection.
