Botswana state broadcaster selects OmniBus Colossus

Botswana Television (BTV), the African nation’s state broadcaster, has chosen the OmniBus Systems Colossus as part of its multichannel strategy for a planned deregulated broadcast market.

Since its launch in 2000, BTV has delivered national coverage on free-to-air and satellite services with the OmniBus Columbus. BTV's new Colossus system is a key component of a new server-based platform and provides enhanced OmniBus G3 ingest and scalable multichannel playout capabilities.

Columbus will continue to be used for news production and playout with OmniBus adding advanced MOS integration to provide greater connectivity with the Associated Press ENPS newsroom computer system.
