AKG showcases DMS 700 digital wireless system at NAB

In the Harman booth at NAB, AKG showcased the DMS 700 digital wireless microphone system. The system offers digital audio encryption, 155MHz tuning range and up to 100 simultaneous channels of operation in an audio system that operates without companding the audio signal. The encrypted digital audio transmission enables users to broadcast sensitive audio information, with each channel secured with its own encryption key. The system offers a full interface to Harman’s HiQnet system control protocol

The DMS 700 digital wireless system is offered in a dual-channel receiver, the DSR 700m, which offers menu-driven access to a deep pool of features, including a spectrum analyzer, automated channel search and infrared link to enable quick setup of multichannel systems. Audio features include low-cut filter, three-band EQ and dbx compressor and limiter.

Both handheld and bodypack transmitters are available. The DHT handheld is offered with either the AKG D5 supercardioid dynamic or C5 cardioid condenser capsule in a rugged black metal housing with 50mW output. The DPT700 bodypack transmitter accepts both microphone and line-level input signals with no need to adjust the input sensitivity. This feature guarantees a failure-proof operation a broad range of headsets, lavaliers and instrument microphones.

AKG also offers the CU 700 to rapidly charge the rechargeable batteries inside the transmitter without damaging the cells' elements. The microprocessor-controlled DC pulse charger determines the optimum charge current and has a cooling fan to help keep the temperature of the cells in a controlled environment.
