NOISE INDUSTRIES RELEASES FXFACTORY 2.0.6

For Immediate Release

NOISE INDUSTRIES ROLLS OUT FXFACTORY 2.0.6

Free FxFactory update adds thumbnail previews inside host application, two new plug-ins and core performance enhancements for Adobe After Effects and Apple Final Cut users

Boston MA – February 10, 2009 -Noise Industries, developer of visual effects tools for the postproduction and broadcast markets, announced the release of FxFactory® 2.0.6 for Adobe® After Effects® CS3 / CS4, Apple® Final Cut Studio® and Apple Final Cut® Express applications. A recent winner of the DV Award of Excellence (January 2009), FxFactory offers over 300 visual effects plug-ins optimized for real-time performance on the Mac platform. A free update for existing FxFactory 2.x customers, version 2.0.6 adds innovative features not found in other plug-in packages such as preview thumbnails in the host application. The new thumbnail previews feature dramatically simplifies finding the right FxFactory filter, generator and transition directly inside the host application. The new 2.0.6 release also adds two plug-ins and core infrastructure enhancements for optimizing overall effects creation workflow and image quality.

“The new FxFactory Thumbnails Preview feature alone will make our customers very, very happy,” comments Niclas Bahn, director of business development, Noise Industries. “Instead of having only a name to identify a specific plug-in users will also have a thumbnail preview right inside in their Final Cut Pro, Final Cut Express and After Effects application. This makes the process of browsing and finding a specific plug-in much more efficient. It is going to be one of those simple but very significant features that once you have it you cannot live without it.”

FxFactory Pro 2.0.6 Feature Highlights

The free update of FxFactory Pro 2.0.6 runs on Apple Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard. New features and functions include;

Thumbnail Previews allows users to quickly find the right effect for their project by providing a small preview of each FxFactory plug-in inside the host application menus. Thumbnails can be customized or turned off via a new preference available in the FxFactory application.

Blocks Dissolve reveals variable-sized blocks in the destination image according to a static or animating pattern.

Banding-free Gradient generator lets users create a linear or radial gradient with certain features that can reduce or eliminate banding artifacts caused by codec compression.

Working Color Space - Select plug-ins will now provide an extra parameter to control the working color space used by the plug-in.

Added support for hardware accelerated anti-aliasing in plug-ins running inside Final Cut Pro, Motion and Final Cut Express (this feature was previously available only when running inside Adobe After Effects).

Added new preferences to the FxFactory application that control how plug-ins communicate images with FxPlug hosts. The new feature allows plug-ins to render in high-precision on systems with low available video memory.
