TV Magic Partners With Sony, AJA Video, and Apple to Present Workshop on File-Based HD Workflow

SAN DIEGO — Oct. 30, 2008 — Broadcast systems integrator TV Magic is partnering with Sony, AJA Video, and Apple to present a workshop on file-based HD workflow. During this free event, Nov. 6 at TV Magic's San Diego facility, the four companies will showcase industry-leading technologies, including the Sony XDCAM HD series cameras, AJA KONA capture card, and Apple's Final Cut Pro® nonlinear editing system, that support flexible, efficient workflows in the HD realm. Special pricing offers for these leading-edge, HD-capable technologies will be available to those attending the workshop.

"Our goal in hosting this workshop is to give individuals in the broadcast and media business a chance to learn more about the latest HD solutions and how they function together to enable faster, smoother, and more cost-effective operations," said Stephen Milley, vice president of sales and marketing for TV Magic. "While the transition to HD and file-based work can seem daunting, this shift represents a tremendous opportunity for businesses to improve their workflows. This workshop is designed to help ease the transition by bringing together in an interactive environment the experts and products that address key elements in today's file-based workflows."

The workshop will include expert presentations and live product demonstrations, giving attendees the opportunity to experience firsthand the benefits of file-based HD workflow. Sony will showcase its XDCAM HD file-based workflow with new PDW700 camcorder and PDWHD1500 deck, as well as the new studio-capable PMWEX3 XDCAM EX camcorder. AJA will display its KONA uncompressed QuickTime® I/O capture cards for SD, HD, 2K, and Dual Link HD on OS X. AJA KONA cards were the first capture cards available for Final Cut Pro on a Mac OS, and Apple will demonstrate this well-established NLE at the workshop, highlighting its native support for virtually any video format and its facility-class extensibility and interoperability.

Two 90-minute workshop sessions are scheduled, the first beginning at 10 a.m. and the second at 2 p.m. Attendees are automatically entered into a raffle for giveaways and special discount coupons from manufacturers such as Apple and Sony. Registration for this free HD workshop may be completed via phone at 858-650-3155 or by e-mail to marketing@TVMagic.tv. TV Magic's headquarters in San Diego is located at 8112 Engineer Road.
