Triveni Digital CTO Rich Chernock to Present at ATSC Mobile Seminar

PRINCETON, N.J. — Jan. 25, 2010 — Triveni Digital today announced that the company's chief technology officer, Dr. Richard Chernock, will be a speaker at the 2010 ATSC Seminar on Mobile DTV, Feb. 3 in Washington, D.C. Joining fellow industry experts for the full-day seminar, Chernock will address the transport and IP layers used to deliver content in accordance with the ATSC Mobile DTV standard.

"Most broadcasters are not yet familiar with the IP-based media delivery model or details such as the metadata and signaling required to ensure the viewer can tune to and watch mobile DTV content," said Chernock. "The ATSC seminar session provides a platform to address the actual transport of media over IP and discuss how broadcasters can unify metadata management across conventional and mobile services to reduce overhead and leverage their existing infrastructures cost-effectively in launching engaging new services."

Chernock has held many leadership roles within ATSC and SCTE and, as an active member of these organizations' standards committees, has participated in the creation of standards and practices for DTV, metadata, and monitoring. He chairs a number of ATSC ad hoc committees whose work relates to metadata and transport issues. Chernock is vice-chair of the Technology Standards Group (TSG) and chairs the non-real-time services and mobile/handheld management layer activities within ATSC. He is also a participant in the SCTE HMS activity and is a former winner of the ATSC Bernard J. Lechner Award.

ATSC Mobile DTV was developed to support a variety of services including free (advertiser-supported) television and interactive services delivered in real time, subscription-based TV, and file-based content download for later playback. The standard can also be used for transmission of new data broadcasting services. The 2010 ATSC Seminar on Mobile DTV is being held at the law offices of Hogan & Hartson at 555 13th Street NW in Washington, D.C. Registration and further details are available at www.atsc.org.
