Online: April Logs Record Number of Video Views

RESTON, VA.: April yielded a record number of online video views according to data from ComScore. Internet users viewed 16.8 billion online videos during the month, about 16 percent more than in March. ComScore pinned the rise on increased YouTube traffic. Google video sites accounted for 41 percent of the total with 6.8 billion videos viewed; 99 percent of them were at YouTube. Fox Interactive Media was No. 2 with 513 million video views, followed by Hulu with 397 million and Yahoo! Sites with 355 million

From a user perspective, nearly 152 million ’Net surfers in the United States watched an average of 111 videos per viewer in April. Google Sites reached an all-time high of 107.9 million video viewers during the month. Fox Interactive was next with 58.8 million viewers, followed by Yahoo! Sites with 45.4 million and Hulu with 40.1 million.
