Eckert to Receive NAB Engineering Achievement Award for TV

FCC official Robert Eckert will receive NAB's Engineering Achievement Award for TV at the Technology Luncheon on April 9 at NAB2003 in Las Vegas.

Eckert is the branch chief of the electromagnetic compatibility division in the technical analysis branch of the Office of Engineering and Technology at the FCC. A 23-year veteran of the commission, Eckert specializes in spectrum planning for advanced TV. He has investigated ways to assign DTV channels within the current TV broadcast bands and constructed computer programs to evaluate the coverage and interference consequences of various DTV channel allotment tables.
