ATSC Mobile DTV Seminar Agenda Announced


The Advanced Television Systems Committee (ATSC) has released details of the all-day Mobile DTV seminar program it has planned for Feb. 3.

The event will run from 9:00 a.m. until 4: p.m. that day in downtown Washington, D.C., and will begin with introductory remarks from Mark Richer, ATSC president. Sterling Davis from the Cox Broadcast Group will then present an overview of broadcasters’ efforts to roll out Mobile DTV.

A presentation on various aspects of the ATSC Mobile standard itself is planned, which will include examination of its physical, transport I/P, application/interactivity, and presentation layers by industry experts. These include Wayne Bretl from Zenith/LGE, Rich Chernock from Triveni Digital, Art Allison from the NAB and Brett Jenkins from ION Media.

The seminar will also include a session on “Broadcast Station Implementation,” featuring Jay Adrick from Harris, Peter Mataga, from Roundbox, and Dave Benco from Rohde & Schwarz.

Other scheduled presenters include Kenwood’s Mike Bergman, the OMVC’s Anne Schelle, and Sinclair Broadcasting’s Mark Aitken.
